Sculpted in Time

During our inception, Sherpas Cinema was known more affectionately as the Rocky Mountain Sherpas.  It seemed a fitting name as the founders of the company grew up together in Canadian Rockies.  We cut our teeth as kids both skiing and making short films on the ski resorts and the surrounding backcountry of the Rockies in Banff National Park.  So when we heard through the grapevine about a project focusing on ski stories and characters in and around these very resorts, we pounced on the opportunity to get back to our roots.

Its with great joy that we introduce the trailer for our web mini series, Sculpted in Time.

We follow a handful of iconic Rockies ski characters through Lake Louise, Sunshine, Mt. Norquay and even tick off a few backcountry classics.  Spanning generations from the young Rocky Mountain Freeriders, to pros like Hjorleifson and Rubens, to ski legends like Eddie Hunter who’s been shredding these slopes since the 1930s, it seems that a sense of humility and raw mountain skill are commonplace amongst the characters hailing from the area.  The grandeur of the these peaks have been carved over millennia and their raw nature reigns supreme, inspiring generations to seek adventure amongst the Canadian Rockies in a variety of forms.

Join us over the coming weeks as we roll out 4 episodes.
