All.I.Can Wins Best Feature-Length Mountain Film - Banff Mountain Film Festival 2011
The Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival is arguably the worlds biggest celebration and collection of outdoor adventure and mountain culture films. This week long gathering of outdoor enthusiasts, film buffs and industry players sets a standard for mountain film festivals around the globe.
Sherpas Cinema has been fortunate to be involved with this festival for nearly a decade now and this year, our latest work All.I.Can, won Best Feature-Length Mountain Film. We're very stoked to say the least!!
Rolling into the Rockies is always a nostalgic feeling for The Sherpas. Born and raised in these parts, the dry cold bite of early November in Banff is welcoming. Walking up the icy streets from downtown to the packed house at The Banff Centre, All.I.Can headlined the Snow Show to a sold out crowd. Four days later, after a plethora of awesome movies, countless hugs and handshakes, and a healthy....or rather unhealthy amount of booze, The Sherpas were presented the beautiful etched glass award in a room full of amazing supporters.
Its been a great journey in Banff. In 2003, a fledgling group of Sherpas had one of their early works accepted by the festival for the first time. A short avalanche awareness piece known as Deep Seeded Instability, it paved the way for a 8 year relationship with The Banff Centre that has led to this award in 2011 for All.I.Can. We can't thank The Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival and The Banff Centre enough for the wonderful opportunities they have given us over the years and we can't wait to submit again next year. For those of you who missed the fest or have yet to see All.I.Can, a shortened All.I.Can cut will now travel around the globe on The 2011/2012 Banff Film Festival World Tour.
Thank you, Thank you....
The Sherpas
